What happens at a Salone Events track day? A complete guide

A car track day is one of the most exciting ways to experience your vehicle in a safe, controlled, and professionally organised environment. Rather than competitive racing, a track day allows drivers to explore their car’s performance, handling, and braking – all without public road restrictions – alongside like-minded enthusiasts.
Whether you’re attending your first track day or you’re an experienced driver, Salone Events delivers a refined, relaxed experience designed around quality time on track.
Arrival & Registration
Track days typically begin early in the morning. On arrival, you’ll head to registration, where you check in and complete any required paperwork. Your vehicle will then undergo a noise test to ensure it meets the circuit’s sound limits – a standard requirement at most circuits.
Once registered, you’ll have time to prepare your car, settle in, and soak up the atmosphere before heading out on circuit.
Safety Briefing & Preparation
Before the track opens, all drivers must attend a mandatory safety briefing. This session covers essential safety information, including:
- Track etiquette and overtaking rules
- Flag signals used by marshals
- Procedures in case of incidents on track
This ensures everyone has a safe and enjoyable track day experience, regardless of experience level.
Time to Hit the Track
Once the track is live, the real fun begins! On a Salone Events track day, there are no more than seven cars on track at any one time, allowing for clear laps, space to focus, and a premium driving experience.
At Goodwood, these are 15-minute sessions and there will usually be a break for lunch though before returning to the action.
Community & Extras
Salone Events track days are about more than just driving. They’re also social events where drivers, passengers, and car enthusiasts can connect, share experiences, and enjoy the day together.
Salone Events also offers extras during our track days including:
- On-site refreshments and lunch
- Professional photography
- Face-to-face tuition
- Helmet hire
