Sat 14 Nov 2026, 9:00 am - 11:30 am

JOIN US FOR A VERY UNIQUE EVENT AT SPITFIRES.COM, LOCATED AT GOODWOOD, WITH SALONE EVENTS

We have teamed up with the awesome guys at Spitfires.com to bring you another epic event.

We are inviting you to drive and park your supercar or classic car airside (only 15 spaces available in total) and come into the incredible hangar where the Spitfires and other aircrafts are stored.

Once inside, you’ll be treated to hot drinks and a breakfast bap before given a tour around the hangar hosted by very knowledgeable staff (not usually available to purchase), be invited to have the opportunity to fly their one-of-a-kind Mk.IX Spitfire Simulator for 5 mins (usually £250 for 30 mins), and even sit in the spitfire (not available to purchase unless flying).

If that is not enough, each driver will be given the opportunity to park their car inside the hangar for a picture.

You will be able to get your smartphone out and take images at all times, as well as us providing you with professional images post event.

Each driver can bring 1 passenger with them for an additional £60, however due to time constraints only 1 person per vehicle will be able to use the simulator.

ABOUT THE SIMULATOR

Their Mk.IX Spitfire Simulator system was designed initially to provide pilots with training and as such, it demonstrates the closest and most realistic experience possible, next to flying the real aircraft.

The fuselage is built from approximately 50% wartime parts meaning the airframe has, in part, fought in defence of our freedom. 40% has been made from parts fabricated for modern restorations that didn’t pass the strict standards required for a newly restored/airworthy aircraft. The final 10% of parts have been made specifically for the simulator to aid with converting analogue to digital information. The simulator’s cockpit is indistinguishable from the real thing, even to a wartime or modern Spitfire pilot. The gauges are all original and retain their original dials and needles. The internal mechanisms have been removed and replaced with modern electronics so that the computer systems can drive them. Lag and “needle wobble” have been programmed so even the dials are as close to the real thing as possible. Original wartime parts include but are not limited to the Spade grip parts, fuselage frames, the rudder mechanism parts, the fuel tank cover, all flights instruments, the undercarriage selector, the primer pump, the seat belt mechanism, canopy frame, the door mechanism parts, various switches, throttle quadrant parts, the gunsight and a number of other controls and items.

The final components that will fool you into believing that you are flying a Spitfire are the motion and force feedback systems. The motion system works in pitch axis so that bumps on the runway, engine vibrations and turbulence can all be felt through the airframe. The force feedback system felt through the controls loads up the faster you go, or relaxes as you go slower, just like the characteristics of the real aircraft they fly and train on.

ABOUT SPITFIRES.COM

Formerly Boultbee Flight Academy, Spitfires.com was established in 2010 and was the world’s first Spitfire training school and approved Spitfire flight provider flying single seat and two seat spitfires.

Spitfires.com has a fleet of owned and managed Spitfires. There are numerous different experiences available for each aircraft including two seat Spitfire passenger flights, Spitfire pilot training and Spitfire simulator experiences that give non pilots the chance sit in and fly the Supermarine Spitfire.

They offer flights and experiences around the UK in an ever expanding number of locations. The headquarters is based at Goodwood Aerodrome, West Sussex. This former Battle of Britain Hurricane and Spitfire base, then known as RAF Westhampnett, still offers multidirectional grass runways, and a location only minutes from the coast that allows all of the experiences on offer to be conducted in the very same skies and over the same land and sea that the Battle of Britain was fought over 75 years ago.

Goodwood and Lee-On-Solent allow flight in unrestricted airspace meaning all aerobatics are possible according to your requirements, and their proximity to the white cliffs of Beachy Head and the Needles mean your experience can be conducted around one of the most iconic land forms on the south coast of the United Kingdom.
