This was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. Every last detail was thoughtfully considered, right down to the small touches you’d normally have to plan yourself. Bernadette and the Salone Events team have a remarkable wealth of experience. You feel expertly guided throughout, yet there’s still plenty of free time to relax and fully soak in the moment.

As a couple, it was lovely to connect with other guests while still enjoying the privacy of our spectacular lodge. Again, every detail was flawless – from a bespoke cocktail waiting for us on arrival to the beautifully prepared breakfast hamper delivered at our chosen time. Sitting and taking in the peaceful view over the lake was the perfect way to start and end each day.

One of the standout highlights was the Michelin-starred 7-course meal with wine pairing at The Pass restaurant at South Lodge Hotel & Spa. It was clear there’s a special relationship between Bernadette and the restaurant team; we felt truly spoiled and welcomed. The chefs and sommeliers were happy to answer all our food and wine questions, which added a personal and educational touch to an already phenomenal dining experience.

And then – Goodwood! What can I say? Arriving by helicopter was just the beginning. Every aspect of the day was handled flawlessly. We felt like VIPs, but the staff were also warm and approachable, making the experience feel both exclusive and relaxed. Even as someone who isn’t usually into motorsport, I felt completely engaged. We were encouraged to ask questions, and the team was full of fascinating insights, which made the event so much more enjoyable. Ladies, this isn’t just for your motor-mad partners! The food was again excellent, and the viewing location couldn’t have been better. It all exceeded our expectations.

We wrapped up the trip with a private BBQ back at South Lodge, sharing stories and laughs with fellow guests. It was the perfect end to a magical three days. Honestly, it felt like we’d been away for a week, but without any of the usual hassle around logistics and planning.
